Pirate Playgrounds in MD, DC, and VA

Pirate Adventures is about fulfilling the childhood dream of sailing away in search of sunken treasure aboard a pirate ship.  Children everywhere play pirates in their backyards, playgrounds, and living rooms.  Providing the props (a real pirate ship, water cannons, sunken treasure) to make it more real for them is our job. We let the kids lead the way to make the story we are telling their own.  It is a GREAT job, you don’t have to tell us!

Plan your Pirate Adventure with us this summer and come see for yourself how magical it is for the kids.  In the meantime check out these great pirate playgrounds we found in MD, DC, and VA to help spark your kids imagination.  For a complete map of these pirate playgrounds and more check out our Pinterest Board – Pirate Playgrounds

If you know of any pirate playgrounds in MD, DC, and VA that we have not covered please leave us a comment and we’ll head out and see for ourselves and add them to our list!

    Broadneck Park – Arnold, MD

This brand new playground is located within a 15 minute drive of Pirate Adventures. It has plenty of room and multiple slides and climbing features.  There is a bell and ships wheel that receive lots of attention.

  2. Pirate Playground Anacostia Park - Washington DC

    Anacostia Park – Washington DC

In our opinion this is the most impressive of the pirate playgrounds in MD, DC, and VA.  It is a huge structure – hard to tell the scale in this picture.  It’s really well done with games to play underneath and multiple order valtrex uk slides.  You can find it off of 295 by taking the Pennsylvania Avenue Exit.  Full directions can be found on the National Park Service Website.  The playground is located on the right before you get to the skating pavilion and tennis court area.

  3. Pirate Playgrounds in MD, DC, and VA - Falls Road Park

    Hadley’s Playground – Rockville, MD

This playground at Falls Road Park includes a pirate theme, a castle and a fort.  It is a fully accesible playground with lots of space to run and has a soft rubber playmat.

  4. Coconut Joe's Edgewater

Coconut Joe’s Restaurant – Edgewater, MD

If you want a great stop for the family before or after your Pirate Adventure, Coconut Joe’s fits the bill.  This family friendly restaurant on the water has an outdoor deck overlooking a playground with a pirate ship.  Its about a 10 minute drive from Annapolis, in Edgewater on the South River.

  5. Mid County Park - Pirate Playgrounds

Mid County Park – Williamsburg, VA

This park is a great stop if you are traveling to the beaches in Virginia Beach or the Outer Banks from MD, DC, or VA this summer.  It is completely pirate themed with fun climbing structures, an enclosed toddler area, and even a zipline!  Don’t forget to stop at Pirate Adventures in Annapolis on your way to the beach or at Pirate Adventures in the Outer Banks when you get there.

  6. Sailwinds Park Pirate Playground

    Sailwinds Park – Cambridge, MD

Another great stop on the way to the beach and you can check out Pirate Adventures of Ocean City if you end up in Ocean City.  This playground is on the water just off Route 50 and has a pirate play structure and a small beach if you kids want to dig for buried treasure.

  7. South Germantown Recreational Park

South Germantown Recreation Park – Boyds, MD

This park has a fun pirate ship playground with sea dragons along with a castle theme..  There is unique maze feature and the facilities at South Germantown also offer a splashpark and mini-golf.

  8. Pirate Playgrounds in MD, DC, and VA - North Beach Pirate Playground

North Beach – North Beach, MD

This pirate playground is small but sits right on the beach.  It feels pretty realistic when the kids stand at the ships wheel and look out at the bay.  Great place to relax on a sunny day with a boardwalk, fishing pier, and even a candy shop and ice cream store off the boardwalk.  North Beach would be a great spring break day trip for anyone in the MD, DC, and VA area looking to avoid spring break crowds in Washington DC.  It could easily be combined with a Pirate Adventure, it’s about a 40 minute drive to North Beach and we’ll be open for spring break this year!
