Fun Winter Break Activities with Kids in Annapolis

At Pirate Adventures we spent the week before Christmas wondering if we should open for winter break with the warm temps!  Unfortunately the Sea Gypsy has been put away and we couldn’t find Pirate Pete to jump in the water for us.  Let Pirate Adventures instead take you on a tour of the best activities for winter break with the kids. The excitement of the holidays is fading and the kids can only play with those new toys for so long.  We’ve got you covered when it comes to entertaining the kids this week.

Top 5 Things to do with the kids this week: December 27, 2015

  3. Find a New Playground: Kinder Farm Park

kinderfarmplaygroundKinder Farm Park is a hidden jewel for many reasons – the trails cut through the woods, frisbee golf, farm animals, – and for our kids, the playground.  The playground at Kinder Farm Park is multileveled and is connected by slides and rope swings.  Kids of all ages will find something new and different from the normal playground at Kinder Farm’s playground.  This time of year the animals are not on display as much as they would be in the spring but with the weather we have been having it is well worth the trip.

  4. Road Trip: Longwood Gardens

longwood gardens winter break activityIf you are not tired of Holiday Lights Displays head to Longwood Gardens, about a 90 minute drive from Annapolis.  Longwood Gardens is a wonderful place to let the kids run with surprises around every corner and relaxing place for grown-ups to wander.  Christmas at Longwood features fountain displays set to music, a children’s train garden, a fire pit and so much more.  If you are looking for a special treat for the grown-ups skip the cafeteria and dine at the sit down restaurant 1906.  The food is really good and the setting is even better, they make a fancy peanut butter and jelly sandwich to get the kids in on the fine dining.

  5. New Years Eve – City Dock, Annapolis
